มฟล. จัดบรรยายพิเศษ Fulbright ชู "อิสรภาพทางวิชาการ" รับมือวิกฤตการศึกษาระดับโลก

มหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง ร่วมกับมูลนิธิการศึกษาไทย-อเมริกัน (Fulbright Thailand) จัดบรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ "The Perils Confronting the Global Academy and the Responsibility of International Educators" เมื่อวันที่ 30 เมษายน 2569 ณ Networking Space อาคาร M for You Centre และผ่านระบบออนไลน์ โดยมีผู้บริหาร คณาจารย์ บุคลากร และเจ้าหน้าที่ด้านการต่างประเทศจากมหาวิทยาลัยทั่วประเทศเข้าร่วม

การบรรยายครั้งนี้จัดขึ้นในโอกาสที่สหรัฐอเมริกาจัดงานฉลองครบรอบ 250 ปี (America250) สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงคุณค่าอันยั่งยืนของอิสรภาพทางวิชาการและความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ โดยมี ดร. Harvey Charles ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการอุดมศึกษานานาชาติที่มีประสบการณ์กว่า 30 ปีในสถาบันการศึกษาชั้นนำของสหรัฐอเมริกา ทำหน้าที่เป็นวิทยากรหลัก ซึ่งปัจจุบัน ดร. Harvey Charles ปฏิบัติงานร่วมกับ มฟล. ในฐานะ Fulbright Specialist โดยมุ่งเน้นการพัฒนาความเป็นนานาชาติของสถาบัน

การบรรยายดังกล่าวมี ผศ. ดร. มัชฌิมา นราดิศร อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแม่ฟ้าหลวง และ ดร. วิพัฒน์ กุรุชิตธรรม ผู้อำนวยการบริหารมูลนิธิการศึกษาไทย-อเมริกัน (Fulbright Thailand) ร่วมกล่าวต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วม นับเป็นเวทีแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้สำคัญที่เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เข้าร่วมทบทวนผลสำเร็จและสำรวจทิศทางใหม่สำหรับการพัฒนาผู้เรียนในระดับโลก

"ความเป็นนานาชาติภายในสถาบัน (Internationalisation at Home) ไม่ใช่เพียงโครงการหรือกิจกรรม แต่คือความมุ่งมั่นอย่างต่อเนื่องในการสร้างพลเมืองโลกที่พร้อมเผชิญและรับผิดชอบต่อโลกอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ"

การบรรยายครั้งนี้เป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้ผู้เข้าร่วมทบทวนทิศทางเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ของการศึกษานานาชาติ พร้อมส่งเสริมให้มีความยืดหยุ่น เติบโต และยึดมั่นในคุณค่าของการเสริมสร้างมิติระดับโลกในมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมให้ผู้นำรุ่นใหม่ที่จะสร้างสรรค์โลกที่สงบสุขและดีขึ้น กิจกรรมนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความมุ่งมั่นของ มฟล. ในการพัฒนาความเป็นนานาชาติอย่างยั่งยืน เพื่อสร้างผลกระทบระดับโลกแก่นักศึกษาและชุมชนในวงกว้าง

MFU and Fulbright Thailand Reinforce Academic Freedom to Address Global Education Perils
On 30 April 2026, Mae Fah Luang University (MFU), led by the Global Relations Division, hosted a special lecture titled "The Perils Confronting the Global Academy and the Responsibility of International Educators." The event was held in a hybrid format, at the Networking Space, M for You Centre, and via an online platform.

This session was a collaborative initiative between Mae Fah Luang University and the Thailand–United States Educational Foundation (Fulbright Thailand). Notably, the event was held in connection with the America250 commemoration, highlighting the enduring values of academic freedom and international cooperation.

The university was honoured to welcome Dr. Harvey Charles, a globally renowned leader in international higher education with over 30 years of experience across multiple institutions in the United States, as a keynote speaker. Dr. Charles has been working closely with the MFU community as a Fulbright Specialist, focusing on institutional internationalisation.

This lecture aimed to provide expert insights into the perils confronting the global academy and the critical role of international educators in navigating complex global challenges. The session served as a vital knowledge-sharing platform for MFU executives, faculty, staff, and International Relations Officers from universities across Thailand to reflect on current achievements and explore future directions for global learners.

The event was graced by the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Matchima Naradisorn, President of Mae Fah Luang University, and Dr. Vipat Kuruchittham, Executive Director of the Thailand-United States Educational Foundation (Fulbright Thailand), both of whom delivered welcome remarks.

In her address, the MFU President emphasised that a core priority of the university's mission is fostering "Internationalisation at Home." She stated that this is not merely as a programme of activities but as a sustained effort to create global citizens equipped to engage thoughtfully and responsibly with the world.

The lecture inspired participants to rethink the strategic direction of international education, encouraging them to adapt, thrive, and uphold values in facilitating the global dimension of universities. The goal is to prepare the next generation of leaders who will lead communities and create a peaceful and better world amidst current global perils.
